Incoterms
Incoterms are a cornerstone of international trade, providing standardized rules that define the responsibilities, costs, and risks shared between the seller and the buyer during the shipping process. At Faster Grup Logistics, we place great importance on Incoterms in the transportation services we offer, ensuring seamless and efficient logistics operations for our customers.
These rules bring clarity to every stage of trade, facilitating smooth logistics processes. Below are some of the key Incoterms utilized in the transportation services provided by Faster Grup Logistics:
Rules for All Modes of Transport:
- EXW - Ex Works: The seller makes the goods available at their premises, ready for the buyer to pick up. From the point of delivery onward, all costs and risks are borne by the buyer.
- FCA - Free Carrier: The goods are delivered by the seller to the designated carrier. From that point, all costs and risks transfer to the buyer.
- CPT - Carriage Paid To: The seller pays the freight charges to the destination but the risks during transport are borne by the buyer.
- CIP - Carriage and Insurance Paid To: Similar to CPT, but the seller also provides insurance coverage during transport.
- DAP - Delivered at Place: The seller delivers the goods to the agreed location, and the buyer is responsible for customs clearance and associated costs.
- DDP - Delivered Duty Paid: The seller handles customs clearance and delivers the goods to the buyer’s location, bearing all costs and risks.
Rules Specific to Sea and Inland Waterway Transport:
- FAS - Free Alongside Ship: The seller’s responsibility ends when the goods are placed alongside the ship at the designated port.
- FOB - Free on Board: The seller loads the goods onto the ship. Costs and risks transfer to the buyer once the goods are on board.
- CFR - Cost and Freight: The seller arranges and pays for the freight to the port of destination, but risks transfer to the buyer once the goods are loaded onto the ship.
- CIF - Cost, Insurance and Freight: The seller is responsible for freight and insurance costs to the destination port. However, the risks transfer to the buyer once the goods are loaded onto the ship.
